So, I haven't blogged in... months! Shame on me! I have had so many mom moments lately that I thought I should blog so I can share with the world the sweet and crazy moments that I've had with my smart and handsome little man!
Church- So Connor has recently moved up to the 2 year old class at church and has been having a rough time, until last week! He usually cries for a little while when we drop him off at his class, but is fine withing 5 min. or so. Even though I know he won't cry long and loves his class, it's still heartbreaking leaving him in tears! When we dropped him off last week he went to the drop off lady with ease and only made a quick little pout face! No tears! Hallelujah! This Sunday he didn't even make the pout face! ahhh, relief! I'm so happy I don't have to leave him in tears anymore!
I have to say how thankful I am for such a great children's program at SCC! He loves the class and the teachers! He has been learning so much! It really amazes me how much his almost 2 year old brain soaks up!
Mom moment! After church we usually ask him what he learned and did in his class. He might try to say a couple of words that we have to piece together to make sense of what he's trying to say. Last week his response was, "Help others!" :) That made me so happy that he was paying attention and retained what he learned! So a couple days later he was looking at his coloring sheet from church and I thought he said, "king song". I said, Oh! You sang a song at church about a king. Obviously that wasn't what he was trying to say because he repeated it again several times. I looked at the paper and realized he was trying to tell me that the picture was of King Saul! A little while later he was saying aloud, "God... help others!" without being prompted! That just made my heart sooo happy and overwhelmed with joy! I can't even describe in words how happy and thankful that made me feel!
It amazes how much a young child can learn and remember! When asked to get the bible, he will bring me one of his many bibles. And when asked who is in the bible he says, Jesus! For some this may sound like small accomplishments that don't mean much at all. But, to a mom who is trying to make sure that her child is learning about Jesus as early as he possible can and that he will accept Him as his personal Lord and Savior one fine day, this encourages me that this definitely a step in the right direction!
It's amazing to think that as much as I and my husband love my sweet little man, our Heavenly father loves him exceedingly more!
So incredibly blessed,
G
