what are new moms thinking?

Inside the mind of a new mom:
(Some things I found myself thinking as I venture into the world of motherhood, as well as some things friends have shared with me.)

~ Wow! I am so incredibly blessed to get to be a part of this little baby's life. Nurturing him while he's growing in my belly, now feeling a huge responsibility for taking care of his every need now that he is here!

~ It's amazing how you bond so quickly with your newborn and the feelings you feel are like none you have ever felt. Even when you are exhausted you want to be the one to change their diaper, give them a bath, feed them and hold them in your arms.

~ Before your sweet little blessing is born everyone tells you that they will help and watch your bundle of joy. It surprised me how much I didn't want help at first.  I wanted to take care of my baby, I felt like I had to, I am his mom!

~ I thought I knew that it would be hard to let someone else watch my son at first...  It was way harder than I thought!  The anxiety that you feel the first couple of times they are not with you is quite overwhelming. It is a very slow process that gets a little better, but it is never easy!

~ The first month of being a new mom is like a roller coaster ride. Emotions are all over the place.  You are so incredibly happy one minute and have a meltdown the next. You can't believe how much you love this tiny little blessing! Then you feel so helpless at times when you can't seem to comfort your baby's heartbreaking cries or can't get your exhausted baby to sleep. Your little angel is getting use to this big world and you are getting use to being a mom. Oh how much you learn in such a short time.

My thoughts at this very moment:
I can't believe my handsome little man is already a year old!  I have truly been blessed to have him in my life.  He has taught me so much in the first year of his life.  I can't wait to see what God has planned for him. :)
