Connor doesn't like me cooking at all. He knows my attention is not totally focused on him at the moment. I've tried different things to keep him occupied while I cook, including talking to him so I am at least giving him some attention. It's still a task to cook and keep him happy but it's getting a little better. It's not too bad when I don't have to 'prepare' much. If I have to peel, cut, etc. that's when he gets unhappy!
I have discovered that he loves helping me make biscuits! I found this really easy recipe that's simple and super quick. I let him put all the ingredients in the bowl and stir them together. Since it's basically butter, milk and flour it won't hurt him if he decides to take a taste. We have been making cinnamon biscuits for breakfast on the weekend. I love making them with him, so fun! :)
Here is the recipe. Enjoy! (try making them with your kids!)
Connor's Biscuits
1 cup flour (I use white whole wheat or whole wheat)
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
2 or 3 tbs butter, softened ( I use 2 tbs butter, 1 tbs olive oil)
~for cinnamon biscuits
add as much cinnamon as you like
(I also make an icing to go on top, use some powdered sugar and a little milk)
Put in a greased muffin tin (makes 6)
Bake at 350 for 10-12 min.
God Bless!
